FAQ
What’s different about Convict Bitters?
Convict Bitters uses exclusively Australian Botanicals to produce the complex flavours and aromas our customers have grown to love. Paired with the best traditional ingredients, we put these herbs and spices through a 144 hour extraction process to produce a deep and rich flavour in the final product.
How long do your bitters last on the shelf?
Our mixologists recommend that you drink our bitters within 24 months of purchase to get the best flavour and experience.
Do your bitters need to be refrigerated?
No! Our bitters are perfectly fine sitting on the shelf - however, to ensure that your bitters stay fresh we recommend storing them in a cool and dark place.
How much is a ‘dash’, can I measure a specific amount?
Wherever a recipe specifies '1 dash', use just under 1ml, or a dropperful. Technically, the exact measurement is 0.8ml, but a little extra Convict Bitters never hurt anyone.
Is it safe to use when pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our bitters contain alcohol - however, with any herbal product, we recommend checking with your doctor before consuming or incorporating our bitters into your diet.
What recipes can I use Convict Bitters in?
We are always updating our recipe list with the best there is to offer. Please see our list of recipes here.
